Abel fidgets and looks down at his hands. Man. He really has to think about this huh? He… Likes Vinzent at least? He knows that much. Vinzent is a friend. He’s hit that classification at the very least.

But the things he’s less sure of. Well. He likes being around Vinzent. He liked doing his hair for him. He likes being close… He’s STILL tempted to reach out and touch Vinzent honestly- To do something to comfort him for how painfully embarrassed he looks.

But Abel’s not exactly good at recognizing and reading emotions. Add other people into the mix and it gets harder. Romance seems even more foreign because… Well he just sort of accepted it probably wouldn’t happen. Honestly he wondered if it would Never even happen on his side. Certainly he’s found men attractive before but crushes… They’re less of a factor in his mind. He never figured out if he’d Had them and not realized before or if he didn’t.

But this feeling with Vinzent is fairly new. It’s a strange little flutter in his stomach. A funny Buzz. Is that what that is? He can’t say for Certain.

It should make him more certain that the idea of kissing Vinzent doesn’t sound bad to him- but he wonders if maybe that’s just a want… To Kiss. (Even if prior to this thinking about kissing was more of a ‘no one in particular is on the other end’ sort of imagine.)

“Oh.” Abel’s own blush hasn’t really… Calmed down in the slightest either. “I. I’ve never- uh.” He’s averting his eyes again. “I’ve never… Dated or anything like that before.”

Abel runs his hands over his pants as a nervous stim. It also helps to rid them of the sweat that’s Definitely building up. Boy oh Boy! “I… I don’t know. For sure or anything.” Ugh. Admitting he’s so… He’s a loser. He really is a loser isn’t he?

“I don’t… Um. I don’t really know how to tell.” He’s getting Really quiet towards the end there. Might be kind of hard to hear. This is what you get for being a workaholic. You work so much you decide you don’t need to think about things and now that you have to you look like a little dork! This is on YOU buddy.

Vinzent was lowkey glad that despite his confession, there was still time to think about it. Anything can happen. And while a lot of thoughts going is a sign there’s some consideration to be taken in account, it doesn’t mean it will always end with a no. That said, he’s still ready for that possibility.

“That’s alright. I’ve just dated once before, so my experience is… Not a lot. Except for everything that I first experienced about dating, it doesn’t mean I know absolutely all about it, so I’m sure I’ll get to learn more stuff as it goes on. That said.”

As a matter of fact.

“It’s fine, Abel. If you’re not sure right now… I’m not expecting an answer right away or super soon, you got time. Okay? The last thing I want is moving things too fast.”

Vinzent didn’t quite hear what Abel said at the end, but in the end, his thought was the same, taking both their time was important now to figure out what’s really going on.

Abel nods very seriously. There’s time. There’s time. That’s fine. He… needs to talk to Viper. Very desperately. So. So desperately.

He’d also really like to talk to his uncle about this but… thats Not so much an option right now. Certainly he can Imagine What Marius Might say But. It’s Just that. An imagining. Besides… Marius isn’t exactly the… Nicest? So. Perhaps Viper would ultimately be better to speak to anyway. At the very least she won’t have some sort of class hang up or be worried about Vinzent not being able to protect Abel.

“I’ll think about it.” He runs his fingers over his braid to hopefully calm himself down some. “… I’m not… saying no.” He’s keeping his eyes averted. This is… yeah.

He’s okay. He can… handle this. With. Lots And Lots of help from Viper he can handle All of this. He’s so normal!! Promise! Vinzent this Wasn’t a bad choice! Probably?

… does he want to hold Vinzent’s hand? Yes. Slowly he puts his hand down and. Let’s their pinkies touch. That’s it though! Nothing… too much. (Even if this little contact is enough to make Abel’s stomach do flips and for him to Look All the way into the water. Terrifying to initiate! But you know.

… affection… good? Viper is making him think as much. He can also easily claim he didn’t realize in case Vinzent changes his mind or something. Passable. Small. A start. Besides. It’s a good way for Abel to figure things out right?

Vinzent might want to talk about what happened right here to a certain someone, but he’s… Not sure either. But if he doesn’t, it might get out sooner and people will know in the way that Vinzent would like the least. He’ll need some time to think about this.

Vinzent on his side, could only imagine how of an absolute party his friends is going to have had they known. Not in a bad way, but just… In a ‘I knew it!’ way. Probably because he didn’t realize that it explained some of his choices and tastes, and his mindset that has evolved over time.

He nodded. “Alright, that’s fine..!” It’s more than enough of an answer for Vinzent.

I believe-

He wondered if he should do something, or if it was going too fast, when he felt his pinky being touched…! Without hesitation, Vinzent rests his hand on Abel’s. No intertwining it yet, just letting Abel know that he doesn’t mind!

… Vinzent does want this moment to last a bit longer. This is… Quite nice.

The moment can last as long as Vinzent wants! In fact- “if you’re tired-“ Abel starts. “… you can sleep if you want. I can. Keep watch.” Viper offered this to him last car- And quite frankly he’s about to start taking her up on that.

But for now. It’s been a long day. Abel isn’t likely to sleep right now but. Vinzent swam around for a bit.

He squeezes Vinzent’s hand ever so slightly.

“You can use my coat for a blanket if you’re cold.” He’ll even willingly sit on the sand instead of staying seated on his jacket if Vinzent wants it.

If.. He’s tired? … Vinzent hasn’t realized that fatigue hit him, perhaps because his emotions were running high on quite some situations, including the previous one and this current one, but now it felt heavy. He does need to recuperate, to be honest. Just that… So much happened, and he was nervous. But now…

It feels safe. So he squeezed Abel’s hand in turn with a smile.

“I’ll be fine, just napping next to you… But thank you for the offer…!”

Now laying down and removing his glasses, he took off his scarf to use as a temporary pillow, it’s not much, but it’s something. Knowing that Abel is right there, Vinzent closed his eyes, soon falling in a nice slumber.
