“That’s so corny…” Viper snorts at his earlier comment, but she twirls his hair around her finger, her entire body aches, and her head still feels…muggy. Viper leans on him rather heavily this time, her eyelids drooping ever so slightly as she adjusted to the pain.
Abel starting to sob into her shoulder is met with a delayed squeeze, and a small nuzzle into his shoulder. It feels like she’s swimming through a brain full of tar, with how much her head is fuzzing. She does her best to comfort him, petting him in long, slow pets, but her eyes are drooping more. Luckily for Abel, as her head fogs further, she registers his words, and a smile crosses her lips.
Yes… they love each other very much. Viper tries to fight it, but exhaustion comes over her like a tidal wave and her good arm falls somewhat limp against Abel. It’s hard to keep her eyes open, they flutter open and closed a few times…she fights the tiredness desperately. She’s sure her vision would be clouding had she not buried her face in Abel.
She’s so tired… so, so, tired…
Viper gives in to the darkness.
