Vinzent might have spoke only once but, he was attentive the rest of the time.
Yeah, he’s aware Abel has no issues with money, but, still.
… He was glad Abel agreed with him on his point. And listened to him add more, in which Vinzent nods in agreement. At least the secretary knew what the terms were in sports, because Vinzent was not well versed in that himself.
He’s an artist with pretty decent running speed, not an athlete at all ¯\ (ツ) /¯
Abel earns a worried glance for a second at the wincing but Vinzent’s face quickly returns to neutral as they’re all still talking about Melvin’s Issues.
Another ring out, Vinzent doesn’t even say anything to this, he’s… Sort of used to it, already. Even if it happened to him just once. He does wonder how many rings Abel actually has at home. But scratch that, there’s still things to listen to.
Melvin Greene “‘Once,’” he snorts, “yeah, man, called it quits after the first time. Got me there.” He’s not even annoyed at Vinzent for that one, just resigned to what once again sure feels like a confirmation of how people see him as the sort of person who quits immediately. Not that… he’s done much to dispel the notion during their time here.
That said, he kind of… Feels bad for this but, come on, Melvin. You’re not helping yourself. Vinzent knows Melvin likely did try more than once, but the way it was said REALLY felt like he just tried once.
Melvin’s attempts at protesting then holding back just… It did frustrate Vinzent as well, he himself almost didn’t finish highschool narrowly due to quite some issues and he still went and got to university to graduate. If a regular depressed artist can and has gone to university to complete his degree, why can’t Melvin try as well? Even if Vinzent seemed to have finished within the normal age range… It took alot out of him to get there. But anyway. He’ll say that later, or never. Right now it is Melvin Encouragement Hours ™ (The best attempts possible).
“What is it that we don’t get? Please try to clarify.”
An attempt is being made.
But soon enough, Melvin’s mention of Jack got Vinzent to raise an eyebrow. Didn’t he ensure that people wouldn’t listen in- Don’t worry– Oh phew, wait no- MELVIN?
Thinking over this… But still, if there’s appropriate help, Melvin can keep it aside for important needs? And there’s a thing called therapy- (Not like Vinzent has gone to a full one, as he quits right after he left the hospital). BUT STILL. He’ll let Abel answer that one because it is about his money, and not Vinzent’s, so the artist felt it wasn’t his place to talk about it.
