Haruka Yukimura “Thank you again…! I’m not sure how much of the ‘together’ I can be, but I’ll do my best…” Maybe she can point out something high up, or carry something less heavy?
“So long as you actually, like, try, it counts! Plus we’re talking. Talking should count as a together activity, no matter what anybody else thinks.” Asuka and her ex probably had debated that point for a while. Ugh, whatever. What matters at the end of the day was Asuka was right, and people could just talk while one was doing something for it to count as time together.
The swing of her pickaxe grows slightly weaker, but her spirit is strong! She’s still going, and nothing is about to stop Asuka! …She hopes Haruka thinks she looks cool! Gotta impress the cool older authority figure, after all.
Haruka Yukimura “Oh, wow, really…? Hahah, I’ve done nothing like that… It’s not really the time and place, I think. There’s not really anyone here who I’d fancy even if it were.”
Oh no, the rarepair I definitely had is sunk. Anyways-
“I get it. Like…Who would ever want to date here?” Asuka wouldn’t try due to the range of people here, to be fair, but even theoretically she didn’t get it. “Like…Dating’s messy enough, y’know? Don’t need the extra drama of somebody dying or whatevs.”
Another swing, although Asuka stops afterwards to smile at Haruka, letting out a little laugh. Totally not because she needed a few seconds of break or anything.
Haruka Yukimura “It has been quite stressful, though, you’re right. How have you been? Any fun news of your own?”
“No….? I mean, I’m doing fine. I think Arty isn’t totally dumb, I guess. We had a good conversation. And Viper was fine to talk too. And R.N.A. was…good. I’m mostly just focused on getting stuff done, y’know? I’m, like, pretty sure we’re screwed if we don’t. Why bother?”
Asuka shrugs.
“…I mean, not that you’re not cool! Because you are! But…Well, if we do leave, we’re proooobably not seeing each other ever again?”
…Ah. Isn’t that a thought.
