Asuka prided herself on being tough, and she actually had the muscle to back it up. Being the mines, while it was gross, wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Even somebody as wonderful and talented as Asuka, however, eventually needs a break. It wasn’t like there was any specialized place for her to just sit down though, despite the fact she was pretty sure she deserved that much.
The reflecting pond would just have to do, wouldn’t it? Asuka personally wasn’t a fan of it - it gave her the creeps - but a resting place was a resting place!
Eyes closed, Asuka was partially curled up on the floor, back against the wall. There had just been… so much going on, and now that Asuka could probably sit down to think it hit her all at once how exhausting this was. Nobody was okay, and it felt like there was a layer of confusion and emotional distance that couldn’t be overcome. Every step Asuka made to get over it made things worse - weirder.
It felt like people were either too nice or too angry, too wrapped up in their own business, or suddenly focusing too much on the weirdest stuff.
…It was okay though. Asuka’d get home eventually, and everything would be okay. She just had to believe that.
Eyes still closed, she’s barely aware of the sound of approaching footsteps, opening her eyes slowly to see who the visitor is.
