Abel loves to pace. After all, it’s exactly what got him in this mess!
He planned to just pace and pace, avoiding getting in anyone’s way, until he was tired enough to go to sleep then repeat and repeat. Little else to do here- and little else to keep his brain off the things he doesn’t want to think about.
The problem with this plan, of course, is that he’s nosy enough to peak into the far rooms and discover a certain someone. Oops!
The first moment he sees him it doesn’t quite click. He shuts the curtain and moves to take a step before pausing and peaking in again. Hm.
Surely it’s not him- but at the same time… He can’t say he doesn’t think the cats might… Arrange this. Can’t lose too many players to… not the game, can they?
He lets himself into the room against his better judgement. He’s already proven quite nosy into Jack’s life, and he didn’t get to talk to him after everything he learned. Besides, he wonders if Viper’s found him already. She must… Be relieved.
Leaning just over Jack, he speaks, “… Welcome… back.” He doesn’t really expect him to respond. Or… At least he wouldn’t be too surprised if he Didn’t. Perhaps it would be better if he didn’t because that was definitely the most awkward greeting he could have Ever Given. “… Viper’s going to be ecstatic. I even kept her alive for you.” Oh god please stop trying to joke around about that. It falls completely flat but he just doesn’t know what to say and he figures… He wouldn’t really want to talk to him anyway. Maybe he should… go.
