R.N.A. “What would I…. use money for in… a place like this? Besides… all of my needs are… taken care of already.” That was part of the beauty of being a robot. You costed a lot less to look after, as long as you were careful not to get damaged.
“Well how do I know that!? That sounds suspicious as hell! Who just offers medical care without wanting something in return, huh? Everybody wants something, no matter what they try to pretend! That’s just, like, basic facts of the world 101!”
It’s hard to tell whether the red in her face is from the embarrassment at apparently misreading the situation or genuine anger as she spouts what is supposedly an “apparent” truth.
R.N.A. “If you do not… need medical attention, then… I do not need to worry.” They opened up their hat, popping the band-aids and bandages back inside.
There’s something a little pained in Asuka’s expression as those medical supplies disappear though, despite the fact she still refuses to speak her thoughts.
“Yeah, well, there’s also this thing called lying people do. What, are you programmed not to lie? Is that just a thing now?” The sarcasm is clear, since simply communicating her feelings is clearly not possible.
“Everybody gets something from an interaction, no matter what. So don’t lie, ’cause, like, I’ll totally know, y’know? So get talking and just explain what you want, then we’ll see if I need medical attention.”
That is definitely not how that works, but Asuka’s proud of herself for thinking of that!
