“Matsu, look at me-” Viper had unsuccessfully convinced them to look away, the shock on their face was evident- she knew that wouldn’t be enough. She paused, wrapping the cloth around her face, covering her nose but not her mouth. Now both of her hands were free, she turned quickly to R.N.A. , nodding curtly.
“I’ll take Matsu over to the other side.” She didn’t want them seeing her face. “Once you’re done with Atsuko’s… body, I’ll… cover her up.” Just so nobody had to look for any longer than they had to.
Viper turns back to them, focusing entirely on snapping them out of it. Reaching out, she takes their chin in her hand, tilting their head up to look at her face.
“Matsukaze, look at me. Ya don’t need to look. Focus on me.” Viper brushes some hair from their eyes with her free hand. “Ya’re panicking, which…is understandable, but… ya gotta snap outta it!”
Viper takes their hand, looking them dead in the eyes until she feels they’re grounded enough to actually move from their spot.
“Ya good? Come on. Let’s go.” Viper takes hold of them, ensuring she remains at their side that blocks the view of the pile of ashes that was Atsuko, taking them over by the space heater and the tree.
Whilst it wasn’t far from the body, Viper knew that to truly be useful, they couldn’t stray too far. She lightly kicks the space heater to see if there’s any significant damage to it aside from the burning.
