It’s been a long few days since The Car Wash. Abel enjoyed being done with the cops and robbers game but he didn’t realize how much harder only talking or getting noticed by Specific People might be once you’re not dressed in all black in a robbers mask.

Even in his silly little suit- it’s hard to ignore that he looks… Awful. And is prone to doing VERY unrecommended things!

Like trying to… Organize a shelf in a store. A shelf that Does have heavier items on it. Abel. I’m begging you. Please Stop.

But hey. He isn’t listening. Or overly reacting to any people who might come into his vicinity- like he thinks he’s going to blend in or something. Nope he’s just a dorky guy trying to. Work his problems away- Even with a black eye and a split lip. Of course. What else might we expect of him?

Sorry Haruka. Seems he didn’t decide to stop getting into fights with people, hm? Really starting to get questionable whether or not his statement of not seriously injuring himself or others still counts with a bruised neck.

It really does seem like he’s about to lift something a bit too heavy with his shoulder considered, though, so even for all his attempts to seem apart of the background and NOT worth interacting with…

Haruka had been on the look out for someone that she knew she was concerned about. Word had made its way to her about Abel and Viper’s latest fight, and knowing Abel’s track record she doubted he would be taking proper care of himself afterwards. But in these mall-supplied outfits, everyone looked so different - and the same. But now he had got changed, that smart style of his was unmistakable. That was definitely Abel.

“Abel…? Be careful with those boxes! Goodness, what happened to you? Perhaps I should be telling you to be careful with everything!”

She sighed as she wheeled the segway over to him in concern.

Haruka Yukimura “Abel…? Be careful with those boxes! Goodness, what happened to you? Perhaps I should be telling you to be careful with everything!”

He does stop trying to lift the box but his previously neutral expression turns to annoyance as he pushes the box back from the edge of the shelf.

“I’m not breakable, but I appreciate the thought.” It’s… a little snarky. He’s frustrated.

He stands and corrects his posture before turning towards Haruka. “I’m fine, Haruka. I know what I can handle.” Which isn’t true. Blatantly- and Haruka certainly can see as much. Either way he’s not about to Admit his weaknesses that easily. Not when he’s sure Haruka looks down on him. Why would he add to that? “It’s really not that bad.” He throws that on. Like it will appease them.

“How’s your mouth?” He moves to reorganize a different part of the shelf for now- but the items there were Much lighter.

“You may not be, but your bones assuredly are.” Haruka wasn’t exactly meaning to be snarky, but she was frustrated too. Why wasn’t Abel capable of understanding the need for rest and recuperation? Or, now she thought about it, why didn’t about half of the people here understand?

“It’s improving. Most of the blood came from biting my tongue, which hurt, but at least it heals up relatively quickly. Thank you for asking.”

She wished she could offer to help with the boxes, but unlike Abel, she had a reasonable idea of her limits - or at least the consequences of pushing past them - and she knew she’d be more of an obstacle than a helping hand.

“Never broken a bone yet- So I’m probably fine.” He looks More annoyed now.

Haruka Yukimura “It’s improving. Most of the blood came from biting my tongue, which hurt, but at least it heals up relatively quickly. Thank you for asking.”

He nods at her.

And then forces her to stand there in silence for a moment while he… Keeps working.

But even he can’t handle how truly awkward forcing someone to stand in silence is- especially since she’s clearly worried about him- so he finally huffs and sits down against the shelf- letting her join if they’d like to. His hands itch to keep working but he CAN take a break. He’s so good and normal and healthy about it.

“Look. I’ll take a short break, happy?” Because he. Doesn’t actually want Haruka to hate him- and he DOES respect them- so. It’s something. “But you can’t really just make everything you do about helping other people.” Which maybe isn’t exactly true- it’s just all her interactions with him have been- and he doesn’t exactly feel Good about it. “Do something for Yourself for once.”
