Roadie 🪶Jack “Don’t ’member all the details of how I started out, but ya just figure it out eventually. Get a feel for it, yeah? Which’s exactly whatcha oughta worry about when ya start on a new piece. Different woods, pieces from different places’re gonna cut different, so you wanna test the waters some before you get goin’ with the big cuts. Know how hard you gotta push an’ pull an’ everything.”
FVinzent nodded attentively as he listened to the man. Some words were a little hard to understand (Mostly the expressions) but over all… The demonstration did help. He would be careful…
As he was going to be working toward it, of course his current self had to interject. Which in turn, the kid was still water eyed.
Roadie 🪶Jack “Holdin’ an art class, of course! What’re you doing?”

“…”

“I wasn’t wanting to make my flourself cry, but that’s reckless of you. You should know better than lending a big knife to a small kid.”
FVinzent wasn’t quite sure if he should speak up, as he usually was quiet but, he… He gotta.
“I… I wanted to learn how he makes these birds…”
Thankfully, it didn’t take some long minutes for Vinzent to register the little bird sculpture next to FVinzent. Truthfully? He’d have done the same thing, wanting to learn how, had he not been stopped by well-meaning adults looking to keep the safety of his hands and himself intact. But… He did try later different sculptures, when he had a better grip. So… How was he to explain to his younger self that it’s perhaps better to wait, or start even smaller?
… Truthfully, as sweet as he was when he was younger, Vinzent knew how stubborn he could get just to learn something. And escaping severe injury narrowly multiple times. It’s quite a miracle his hands are perfectly intact after all these years. It’s not that he hasn’t gotten a single wound, more so his wounds were thankfully never serious enough to stay when accidents happened.

“I… I am worried that this man will hurt you, even on accident.”
He knows, at least for once, that Jack doesn’t have malice if he’s simply giving some carving classes to his younger self, but as if it is smart of the man to teach a kid how to use a g-d-mn knife. The urge to cuss at Jack gets stronger, but Vinzent is fighting to keep it down for literally everyone’s kidselfs’ sake.
Every time he thinks it’s not worth it to want to kick Jack’s a–, this man keeps giving him a reason to do so. But Vinzent never really acts on it, mostly because… Uhhh Knife??? Danger zone??? He does not love d a n g e r z o n e…
