Viper “…How long has she been here again?
The doctor sidled past Viper to consult a chart at the foot of the Denizen’s bed. “A few months now, it looks like.”
Viper And, d’you denizens not always know a lot ’bout each other, then?”
“Unfortunately. Travel between cars, even to ours, is rather rare. Many Denizens aren’t well-suited to different environments, I assume.”
He watched the snake-swaddling but didn’t intervene. Perhaps not making any obvious difference, but not harming his patient, either.
She seemed… about as cold as one would expect an indoor statue to be.
Viper “…She’s like, a reptile right? Even though… she’s also… a statue. I’unno. Ya tried raisin’ her body temperature? Maybe she’s jus’ hibernatin’ or somethin’.”
He bobbed in what must have been a nod. “To some extent, at least. Perhaps she merely needs a very high temperature, but we’re not willing to risk injury without more certainty on the issue. I wouldn’t advise anything… hasty.”
She felt like she could be that type.
