Well, that USB is going right into her laptop. Viper has a bit of a weird feeling about it, but…

She can’t just not look after she had a look at the camera’s footage! There might be someone’s deep, dark secrets on there!

Vinzent Mayer “…Huh, interesting.”

“It is, ain’t it?” She’s going to just gloss over the fact she now is going to be carrying around an entire oar. The dove… bird… it reminds her of someone. That kind, fluffy woman who had thought she was actually dying when she was just dying internally of boredom.

She’s a bit of a sight, sitting on the ground cross-legged, laptop on her lap and looking through the contents of the USB. Far too quickly, she snaps her laptop shut and shoves it back into her bag.

Hm.

“…Maybe I should just, pull some more, for good luck? Ahaha…” … Interesting, this gacha machine sure was interesting!

Vinzent makes no comment on the camera’s footage. Perhaps he’d take a look around any other time, but honestly now was not the right moment. That said, he appreciates Viper’s enthusiasm at least. You go, girl. And the others things she will have to carry, well…

That said, Viper’s reaction to the USB contents got his attention, watching her in front of her. Oh. Well, You know, never mind that. Whatever the contents were, it wasn’t his, and he wouldn’t want to intrude once again on someone else’s business. But…

He wasn’t going to lie himself, he was curious to know what the contents were especially after her reaction, but he had to restraint himself from asking.

“I guess there’s no harm in trying again. Maybe you may get something really useful for right now?”

On one hand, urgency. On the other hand, stupid gacha. We can’t win.

“Wahoo!” …Well, whatever that was all about, she’s back! Perhaps she’s way too excited about the gacha machine. Just maybe. But, excuse her, it’s been forever since she’s been able to win something as cool as an OAR!!!! Or, well, the one figure of some show she doesn’t even know of was pretty cool.

“Hey, if I exchange some quarters, wanna go halfsies? I’ve got loads’a stuff in here that I can put in still!” Not to mention, she’s got the fifty she so blindly robbed from Abel.

This time, she’ll decide to exchange her assorted cutlery set, to see what she can get back on it. Not like she needs to be prepared for all this food they HAVEN’T GOTTEN!!!!

“You know, maybe it’s a good thing I keep so much assorted junk in my bag!” Yeah, to justify your gambling habits as soon as you get a chance, Viper! Girlboss moment! Well, if she gets enough to do two or more gacha pulls, she’ll do half 😎

Well, good for her!

Some quarters…? Well, Vinzent does have some money left but, uh… Yeah, why not.

With a shrug and a nod, he talked again.

“Yeah, why not?”

Don’t tell him the robbing story or else he’d have turned it down in a heartbeat.

And, ah the robot again. Vinzent makes no comment. He’s admittedly curious to see how this will turn out.

Viper This time, she’ll decide to exchange her assorted cutlery set, to see what she can get back on it. Not like she needs to be prepared for all this food they HAVEN’T GOTTEN!!!!

The Thingamajig-to-Dollarydoos Exchange Machine™ spits out twenty quarters. Barker laughs a little nervously.

“Uhh– thank you! For your business! I-I think it sounds like a good idea to share especially with Passengers who haven’t gotten to play yet! _How _many _more _gumballs _do _we _have_…”

His eye darts around, looking desperately for other potential customers. The giant robot is a welcome sight, and his reaction is maybe a little exaggerated.

R.N.A. “I have no money.” The robot explains. “Can I offer one… of my well-renowned… Hugs?”

“Oh, of course you may! I-I mean, I don’t know if it’ll do anything, and it’s not like I can uh, feel it, _or _anything, but but but, I appreciate the sentiment! And who knows, the gacha might be in a good mood…”

R.N.A.

R.N.A. saunters over to this giant machine full of… things? It seems so. But you needed to pay in order to get an item. R.N.A. was a little curious. It was worth investigating. Not that R.N.A. would ever support gambling in any form, of course. But this was different. You pay and receive an item. A fair transaction. Everyone is a winner.

Oh. Wait. You… pay?

“I have no money.” The robot explains. “Can I offer one… of my well-renowned… Hugs?” They speak to Barker and also to the gacha itself. This must work.

Abel Lazarus Sure as Hell he hates gambling but man…He’s hurting, and maybe this machine has something that can distract him.

Narrator “Uhh– thank you! For your business! I-I think it sounds like a good idea to share especially with Passengers who haven’t gotten to play yet! How many more gumballs do we have…”

“Oh, ya, I can do that!” Well, she was a little sad that she could be so kindly asked to share by the little doggo she couldn’t say no to, but Viper had already promised Vinzent some of those quarters, but she did still have 10 un-accounted-for quarters! “Yo, R.N.A!”

She waves the robot down. “Here. I got you some cash. I don’t think that lil fella would like a hug in exchange.” She holds out her hand to give them five of the quarters. “Dunno how many things are left in here, but…” She is developing a pretty nice hoard of items herself.

“If you want the other ones, you can have ’em too! I think I’ll be banned from the gacha before long. Boo.” Her five spare quarters for now… are stashed in her pocket. They did have a point though, she was clearly very determined to rinse the machine. All your item are belong to her.

“Oh, heya dude! Nice to see ya up and about!”

R.N.A.

Viper Yo, R.N.A!”

She waves the robot down. “Here. I got you some cash. I don’t think that lil fella would like a hug in exchange.” She holds out her hand to give them five of the quarters.

Oh. Being given quarters? R.N.A. accepts them graciously. “Thank you… Viper.”

HOWEVER.

Narrator “Oh, of course you may!"

Narrator “I appreciate the sentiment!”

R.N.A. was not inclined to believe that Barker wouldn’t appreciate a hug. So the robot would waddle over to one of the giant posters on the wall, attempting to give it a nice, big hug. The screen was unfortunately too far away to be considered a hug target, despite probably being better suited.

Of course, giving the hug itself was a little difficult, because it was a poster. But R.N.A. was filled with determination to give this strange gacha dog the hug he clearly wanted.

Barker was worth the effort.

“How… Is this?” R.N.A. asks. “Is this… Suitable?”

While Jack had been busy watching the other goings-on in the room—finally, some good freaking entertainment—he did keep an eye on the gacha mess over here, too. Meaning he’d possibly missed his best moment to rob Arty (of something that he had yet to pay any attention to, ever, at any point today), but might as well stay away from the open flame if there were other options.

Narrator I-I think it sounds like a good idea to share especially with Passengers who haven’t gotten to play yet!

“I mean, I’ve only gotten to try it once…”

Not that he especially cared to go again, or that he couldn’t afford to, but if Viper was considering handouts…

Abel certainly did not miss a single coin, Jack just checked. And Jack definitely would have returned them to the rightful owner had he found any. Whatever he was slipping into his pocket right now was entirely unrelated.

Woozy from blood loss, Abel is… not about to leave this car without making a bad decision! (Even if this is the last thing happening in this car probably)

Sure as Hell he hates gambling but man…He’s hurting, and maybe this machine has something that can distract him.

He’d like that.

He does have to first exchange a $20, the smallest bill he has (and also the Only “small” bill he has-) but luckily it’s a manageable-ish amount of quarters.

With how deep his pockets are at least.

After picking up the mess of quarters (which, It’s likely he missed some, but he doesn’t really care right now) he does 5 pulls to start.

Steam Die - A single four-sided die made of resin. Tiny gears are embedded inside, but hopefully they don’t affect your odds.

Sweetroll - A light brown sweetbread with gooey icing on top. Should be taken into an alleyway to enjoy.

Hospital Chart - A filled-out hospital chart, that seems to be in German. The information isn’t clear, but it seems to be about a certain Vinzent Mayer, judging from the scribbled name.

Queen McLightning Autograph - An autographed photo of some kind of sentient racecar. High quality and glossy, yet you feel the distinct compulsion to throw it away on sight.

An Entire Oboe - A hard plastic case with metal clasps and a handle. Upon opening, it reveals a musical instrument in three pieces. There’s also a smaller hard case slid in here, and an empty and label-less prescription bottle… Oh! What luck! There are three different reeds inside of the smaller case, and they all look to be in really good condition. You should dip them in Listerine first just to make sure they’re clean, though.

Bonus: AUX Cable - A nice long wire for hooking up some music-containing device or other with some USB-using device or other. Fabled to be highly dangerous in the wrong hands.

Magnificent. Most of this is trash.

He doesn’t care for an aux cord or an oboe. The Lightning McQueen autograph is chucked to the side- but he’ll keep everything else.

Maybe he should return Vinzent’s chart to him since it’s kind of illegible for him.

The sweet roll… he’s not going to eat it right this second, but he is eyeing it. Regardless, he did intend to pull another five times then lay this to rest.

Friendship Bracelet - A childish friendship bracelet, although it’s been made with love. Purple string covered in white beads, with a single “K” on one of them, creates a simple design.

Deluxe Helmet - A brand new hard hat, complete with integrated headlamp usable at three different brightness levels.

Letter Opener - A bright red letter opener, sharp enough to tear through envelopes with ease but not so sharp you’ll hurt yourself. Not without trying very hard, at least.

Expensive Figure Collection - A large number of expensive anime figures from all kinds of popular anime. Each figure retails at about three to five hundred dollars each.

Doctor’s Note - A handwritten piece of paper stating that (blank space) is of sound body and may resume daily activities. Signed by a Dr. Seth.

Bonus: Singed Crane Plush - A cute little plushie of a crane bird that looks like it’s seen better days… it almost looks burnt… There’s a little slip of paper attached to its ankle, which is also mostly burnt, but you can make out ‘Love Hikishun’ written on it.

R.N.A. Upon spending their quarters from Viper…

Sugar Cubes - A small box of crunchy sugar cubes. Each is the perfect size to cradle in your palm.

Creature Treats - A cute little see-through bag with a label proudly announcing its name. Despite the title, it seems to be full of pet grooming equipment…? Well, maybe it’s just a different kind of treat.

Leopard Print Fur Coat - An extremely expensive fluffy coat smelling of an expensive perfume. It’s very warm to wear.

Whiskey Bottle - The only actual label is “XXX,” but it does smell like whiskey. Despite being an animation cel instead of the real thing.

Cologne - A bottle of cologne for men from a popular brand. According to the label, it’s composed of a high concentration of smoky and woodsy scents.

Bonus: Hummingbird Feeder - A delicate, almost crystalline-looking fillable hexagon specially designed for hummingbirds to be able to feed in privacy. But doesn’t that defeat the purpose of hanging up a feeder…?

Roadie 🪶Jack “I mean, I’ve only gotten to try it once…”

“Only once? My dude, you are MISSING OUT!” Viper hands him her last five quarters without much consideration, but she does hit him with a- “I ain’t no charity though, you gotta earn some more pocket money.” She grins at him with a little wink, before heading back to nosily watch Abel pull in the gacha.

And boy does she not regret it

“NO. WAY.” Viper- you’re yelling at the poor guy. “Whoa-whoa-whoa! Don’t go, please!” Viper is determined to get those figures by any means necessary- she could be a material gworl when she wanted to be. And for her anime waifus, it was worth it.

“You gonna keep those figures?! ’Cause, like, they’re SO cool. I, like, totes need those for my collection at home. If I get outta this place, they’d fit right in.” …She’s not mentioning anything about the resale value. Not that she would resell. But… the option was there.

Vinzent, in all honesty, wasn’t sure what more he’d expected after getting more money from Viper.

But maybe time is important and well. More items?

Vinzent slides in (total) 2,50$ and makes the maximum number of pulls possible. Bye money-

Lightly Worn Rabbit Plush - A blue and white plush rabbit that looks a bit loved. It smells faintly of an expensive cologne and is very soft to the touch.

Screwdriver Set - A package set of four brand-new screwdrivers, each with a differently shaped bit: flathead, Phillips, torx, and hexagonal. Talk about multi-purpose fixing!

Sterile Packets - A packet containing several smaller, sterile packets of gauze pads and sutures, including a specialized sewing needle.

Icing Carrot - A plastic squeeze tube painted to look like a cartoon carrot. Full of sparkly, pink icing that seems extra sticky.

Sunglasses - A pair of somewhat large sunglasses with a blue streak. Apparently they’re some kind of ultra designer brand, though they seem pretty plain.

Bonus: Height Sign - A very large label with an exposable sticky backing. Features an arrow beside the text “You must be this tall to enter” and a little bit of opaque white above and below the text.

The resale value matters not to him. He could probably buy several and not even put a dent in the family fortune.

“These?” He gestures towards them. “I don’t really want them.” He definitely Could try to drive a bargain but he doesn’t really have the physical Ability to lug this around for several cars or anything-

And also just. Really doesn’t care about Anime. Sure Cain would likely like them if he made it home to offer them to his brother but. Again. He can easily buy them at their exorbitant resale price.

“Take them.” He hands them over without much care. “They’re not of use to me.” And he feels, literally, much lighter for it.

Well, Jack wasn’t so broke that a buck and change was a great haul, but sometimes you simply took what you could get.

Viper “I ain’t no charity though, you gotta earn some more pocket money.”

“Understood. I’m sure I can find a way to… earn some more.” By which he meant swipe that $50 bill illegitimately at some point. But anyway.

He’d had enough to carry from the start, but he figured one more gacha pull was probably fine. Especially with someone else funding it.

Stick Jesus - A wooden figure with an uncanny resemblance to the Lord and Savior Himself. Feels like it was crafted by a small child at Catholic school.
