(cw extremely oblique animal death)
Abel Lazarus The blank look Abel gives Jack tells him exactly how unamusing he finds this. Surely thatās just even better for Jackās enjoyment, though.
Oho, hit a sore spot? Good to know, good to know. Not that Jack was likely to remember exactly which part had hit like that. Heād probably start bringing up forests to try to irritate Abel later.
Abel Lazarus āNo- That doesnāt mean you ate your twin. Youād have to have parents to have a twin you ate- So youāre just contradicting yourself.ā He gives him an even sharper look. āAs a Twin thatās something Iād know. Maybe you should work on your story. Itās a bit too much BS.ā
Go off, king. Jack was a little taken aback, but more out of disbelief than any sort of scolded.

āMaybe thatās how it works where youāre from, sure. Canāt just make assumptions ābout everyone else in the world, though.ā
Abel Lazarus āChangelings are. Related to fairies or something.ā

āDidnāt know youāre the big expert on that, too. Got a whole fairy twin taxicologist thing goinā on?ā Presumably that was meant to reference taxonomy. Or possibly taxidermy. If he didnāt fully know either word, was there really a difference?
Abel Lazarus āMaybe just lie and say your parents abandoned you in the forest for eating your twin. Thatās at least marginally believable.ā
He squinted for a second at that, seeming slightly less amused, before shaking his head.

āBut whereās the pizazz in that? āsides, the whole pointās that there werenāt parents in the first place. Youāre fixatinā on the wrong part.ā

āBut youāre welcome tā use that one for yourself if ya like. I wonāt sue.ā How generous.
Abel Lazarus He grumbles and gets on the segway and FINALLY theyāre off- Hopefully making Jack Look for the place will stop him from trying to Stare at him.
Jack had so much less trouble maintaining balance on the non-operating side of this thing. Man. Maybe this was the way to go.
As far as locating the store⦠Be easier if he simply remembered, since heād have no trouble with directions. He could still give it his best shot, though.

āOff past the Glaireās, I think.ā
